Namia Bock- Below a Massive Dark Land
Label: Subpop
Genre: Indie / Folk
Reviewed by: Karyn Schy
For Fans Of: Stereolab, Odie Leigh
Former Goat Girl Bassist, and British Indie Icon, Namia Bock has just released an absolutely pleasant singer-songwriter album with deep strumming and lovely vocals. This album has absolutely gorgeous brass elements that are complimented by her slightly lower voice than I feel like I hear with a lot of singer/songwriters. This is perfect for a cloudy day drive, and is the type of album that feels very coming of age as she addresses topics like moving, changes in relationships and her relationship to her body. No songs in this album are a miss but I particularly enjoyed track 1, 2, and 8. Perfect for a relaxed cloudy-day set.

My Brightest Diamond- Fight the Real Terror
Label: Western Vinyl
Genre: Baroque Pop, Chamber Folk
Reviewed by: Baile Liu
For Fans Of: Bjork
Fight the Real Terror flexes the artist's wide breath of multi-instrumental abilities. Most of the tracks use acoustic instrumentation, but track 4 comes in with an upbeat electronic drum beat. The artist's voice is somber/Bjork-like but gets a bit bold and aggressive in Rocket in a Pocket. The lyrics on this album walk the line of cringe to poetic. Tracks 2 and 5 are especially cringe. However, track 7 has majestic angelic vocals and is beautiful. Overall I think this is a good album to add to your show stack!

Ivan Cornejo- Mirada
Label: Zaragoza
Genre: Indie Pop, Soft Indie

For Fans Of: Rex Orange County
My first thought hearing this album was that it is Rex Orange County in Spanish. I think it sounds good, but I cannot get that out of my head. Good soft indie pop, but I cannot speak to the lyrics.

Dear Rouge- Lonesome High
Label: Pheromone
Genre: Alt Rock, Disco Punk
Reviewed by: Dylan Kessler
For Fans Of: King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard, Two Door Cinema Club, Foals, Arctic Monkeys, Parquet Courts, The Yard Act
Lonesome High is a very high-energy album with a few softer songs in-between, notably tracks 6, 9, and 11. Most of it is very upbeat and danceable such as track 5. Interestingly, in some parts of the album the vocals are unusually soft against the trebly, punchy guitar which creates a unique sound I haven't really heard in this style of music. This is a very good album if you're into that classic disco-punk sound like Foals and The Yard Act.
