I'm With The F***ing Band Milk Parlor Show Review
written by Amir Lahoud on
WUVT recently Co-hosted a Milk Parlor Show With I'm With The F***ing Band, featuring Crack in the Sidewalk, Eastern Divide, and No Fly List. The event was a smashing success, and each band brought their own genre into the mix to complete the event with plenty of high moments. You might've missed this one, but stay tuned for what I'm With The F***ing Band has next!
This particular Milk Parlor show saw a surprising turnout, with nearly 75 attendees on a sleepy Monday night (and right after Halloweekend, too!) to see Crack in the Sidewalk, Eastern Divide, and No Fly List.
Eastern Divide was first up, and although the crowd hadn't fully developed, the 4-piece hit the ground running with a more mellow set with songs like Red House, Fake Loathe, Six Blade Knife (a personal favorite of mine) and a surprising Buddy Holly cover, featuring vocals from the drummer, Naiel Habtemichael. Overall, Eastern Divide's more relaxed set really set the mood for the night, and got everyone vibing on the dance floor
Next up was No Fly List, a band that I personally hadn't seen very much of before this. They gave a great first impression though, with crowd-favorite covers of Cage the Elephant and other bands I can't remember. Their drummer and lead singer both stood out with a well-defined sound and good stage presence. I'm super excited to see them preform again, and I hope they start writing originals!
Crack in the Sidewalk was the closer, and it's no surprise that they had the entire Milk Parlor screaming and shouting. They're such a wonderful part of the local Blacksburg Scene, and they always pull out songs that you know people are gonna love. Their setlist included some Killers, Queen, and other goodies that the average WUVT event attendee loves to hear.
This was a great show put on by Cassidy Schultz, Riley Leetch, and Laila Prade, and to be honest I'm still in shock a Monday show had such a great turnout! From the free Poppi soda to the tasteful merch sale, this event was wonderfully run!
